#Limbo HenGoku is back with his take on a bluford series book SECRETS IN THE SHADOWSShelves: Drama, Realistic-Fiction, Romance
Age Range: Young Adult Author(s): Anne Schraff, Paul Langan Series: The Bluford Series Published: December 1st 2001, English Pages: 126 Synposis: This book focuses on Roylin Bailey, a Bluford sophomore who appears in A Matter of Trust. Roylin makes a terrible mistake: He steals money to buy a gift for the girl of his dreams and finds himself in a nightmare he cannot escape. Review Plot 10/10: I thought the plot of the book was very well contructed, engaging, and enjoyable pverall. There isn't anything left out in the book. All elements that this book had were skilfully brought together for a satisfying conclusion. Pacing 9/10: Story overall was not too fast and not too slow. It did at a point slow down a bit but then quickly picks up. I was engaged throughout the entire book, not wanting to put it down. Characters 10/10: The characters in this book are very likable and believable. Like the way they react to things is the same way people would react in real life. I did feel sympathy towards the main character though. I was very engaged with them and could not help but root for them to get out of what they're in and achieve what they wanted to achieve. They're all full developed. Writing 10/10: This book was really well written. There weren't really any grammar errors or sentences that ran too long. The sentences were long enough in fact. Wasn't too descriptive either. I found nothing wrong with the writting for this book Feels 10/10: I actually felt for the characters in the book. I felt bad for the situation they were in and wanted them to get out. I could relate to the characters in the book and what happened to them. Personal experiences: This book is one of my most favorite books of all time. Things that happen in this book really happens in real life. The only problem I had with this book was when it ended.... as in when I hit the final page of it. This book was intriguing, relatable, and the characters were likable for what they were. I honestly can't find any negatives about this book. Overall rating: 9.5/10 READ IT! Would I recommend this book? I recommend this book to everyone because I feel like everyone should read it at least once. #Limbo HenGoku with yet another film review on Disneys Big Hero 6 BIG HERO 6Genre: Animation, Action, Adventure Age certification: Rated PG Directer(s): Don Hall, Chris Williams Writer(s): Jordan Robert, Daniel Gerson, Robert L. Writing 8/10: The story of the movie is very intriguing and the characters are introduced. Though the characters don't really have a lot of development. I felt like they were just thrown in there. This movie does has some pacing issues which shouldn't happen for a 1 1/2 hour movie but quickly picks up. Soundtrack 8/10: The soundtrack in the movie was pretty good. It fit each scene pretty nicely and even influenced the moments positively. Some of them I did not really like. The sound effects were good, too. Visuals 10/10: The visuals for the movie is very good. Almost to the point of looking real at some parts. Feels 10/10: I really connected with the character Hero because I've experienced some of the things he went through in the movie. When they land an interview with a surprise fan, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, they are recruited by the CIA to turn their trip to Pyongyang into an assassination mission. Review Acting 7/10: The actinf in the movie was pretty great. I liked the chemistry James Franco and Seth Rogan had in this film, I felt like they both fit their roles perfectly. Although I felt like some could have done better in the movie. But they all made their characters likable for what they were, so that's good. Writing 7/10: The story of this movie is interesting and the characters are introduced. I thought the jokes in the movie were really funny but then it started getting repetitive. Also, the film slows down at ibe point, too, but then picks back up. There are no unnecessary scenes. Soundtrack 9/10: The soundtrack this movie is really good to the point where I actually started listening to some of it on a regular. It also fit each scene perfectly and even made the comedic moments even funnier Visuals 9/10: Visuals were pretty good and it added to overall experience Feels 7/10: In a way, I liked the friendship James Franco's and Randall ParK's characters had. I thought it was pretty touching. I didn't really bond with the characters either. Movie is very funny thouh. Personal Experiences: I honestly could not help but look forward to the movie. One of things I liked about the movie is the chemistry between James Franco and Seth Rogan because of the contrast between the two. I can't really think of any negatives about the movie aside from the repetitive jokes. This movie was raunchy and very hysterical. I didn't really need to happen but I'm glad it did. In the end, I thought it was pretty decent. Overall Rating 7/10 Decent Would I recommend it? All I can say is know what you're getting into. This team has made films in the past, if you didn't like them then is film is not your cup of tea. BREAKING BAD#Limbo HenGoku with a review on the well known series Breaking Bad Genre: Crime, Drama, Thriller Age certification: Rated R Directer: Vince Gilligan Writer(s): Vince Gilligan Notable actor(s): Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, RJ Mitte, Anna Gunn Release Information: January 20, 2008 - September 29, 2013, English Plot Outline: A chemistry teacher diagnosed with a terminal lung cancer, teams up with his former student, Jesse Pinkman, to cook and sell crystal meth Review Acting 10/10: The acting in this movie is probably one of the best acting I have ever seen. Bryan Cranston kills it as Walter White. There's a reason why he won an emmy for each season. Aaron Paul also did a good job in the show. Everyone in this show brought their A game. The acting was very believable and made the characters likable for what they were and made them hateble for what they were. Writing 10/10: I thought the writing in the movie was flawless as well. The story is very intriguing and the characters are introduced. There is some very good character development in this show as well. I would say that there was one unnecessary episode but even it was enjoyable to watch. The dailog is very good, too. Soundtrack 10/10: I thought the soundtrack in the movie was pretty good and that it fit each scene perfectly. I don't remember much being played but I know I liked it a lot. Especially the opening intro. Visuals 10/10: This show looks pretty good and I thought everything looked real. The blood looks real, the gun fights look real, everything was eye candy. The visuals added to overall expereince Feels 10/10: I was very emotionally invested in the movie. I really felt for Aaron Paul's charater, Jessie Pinkman. The things he was going through, the amount of loses he had was just sad to me. Personal Experiences: This a really good show. First of all, I like how they show the main characters decline to villainy, I thought they did that really well. My favorite character throughout the entire show is Jessie Pinkman. I thought he was pretty badass. You know how some shows had bad seasons? Not this one. This show literally gets better and darker each season. There are no bad seasons what so ever. There is absolutely nothing I did not like about this show. Overall Rating 10/10 Amazing Would I recommend it? Of course I would recommend one of the best dramas ever made. If you have not seen this show, what're you doing? WHIPLASH #Limbo HenGoku is back with yet another movie review Genre: Drama, Music

Simmons Release Information: 15 October 2014 (english) Plot Outline: A promising young drummer enrolls at a cut-throat music conservatory where his dreams of greatness are mentored by an instructor who will stop at nothing to realize a student's potential. Review Acting 10/10: The acting in this movie is absolutely flawless. J.K. Simmons delivers one of the best performances that I have ever seen on film. The acting was very believable and made the characters likable for what they were. Writing 9/10: I thought the writing in this movie was pretty good. The story of the movie is interesting, the characters are introduced and also had some good development. The dialogue in the movie was pretty nice, too. It's not a fast pace though. There are no unnecessary scenes. Soundtrack 8/10: The soundtrack in the movie was good to listen to, I found myself tapping my feet every time the characters were performing. Visuals 8/10: I thought everything in the movie looked great. It had good camera angles and all. It indeed added to overall experience. Feels 10/10: I was emotionally invested in this movie. It's very, very intense. You can't help but feel bad for Miles Teller's character in the movie. I just wanted him to succeed and endure what he was going through. Personal Experiences: This is quite possibly the most intense film I have ever seen to date. I have not bitten my nails as hard as I did for any other movie the way I did for this one. The more I think about this movie, the better it gets. There is absolutely nothing I did not like about this movie. Overall rating 8.5/10 Watch it Would I recommend it? I definitely recommend a movie like this because it's truly good. Honest to god this movie will sink its claws into you. I'll say if you have anxiety problems and don't like it when someone is giving someone else grief then this might be a negative for you. However, it's probably what this movie is going for anyway. Still watch imo Hi, #Limbo HenGoku here. I'm here to give you my first experience on a Bollywood movie Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in IndiaGenre: Adventure, Drama, Musical

Review Acting 8/10: I thought the acting in this movie was pretty good. Aamir Khan did his role perfectly as Bhuvan in the film. The reast were pretty decent but times I just could not buy the acting. Writing 9/10: I thought the writting in the movie was pretty good. Film at time felt like it was dragging on though. There aren't really any unnecessary scenes in the movie either. Soundtrack 10/10: The music in the movie is so catchy, I can't help but tap my feet to it when it plays. The soundtrack was very enjoyable. Visuals 6/10: Movie was pretty much dailogue heavy so visuals didn't have much to offer. Although, I thought everything looked awesome in the movie. Feels 8/10: The feels in this movie was pretty great. I didn't really relate to any of the characters in the movie. I did however was rooting for them in the movie. I could help but root for them to succeed and in the end when they do suceed, you'd feel very happy for them. Personal experiences: Not gonna lie, when I saw that this movie was close to four hours long, I was kind of on the fence about it. But now I don't regret watching it all. close to 4 hours of constant intrigue. The movie is only long because of the soundtrack but I didn't even need to skip them because I thought it was so well done and fun to watch. This is the first bolywood film I had ever seen and it really got me. Overall Rating 8/10 Would i recommend it? Yes, I will recommend this movie to anyone who are interested in venturing in bolywood for the first time. nearly 4 hours of constant intrigue, won't disappoint Horror expert-in-training %Limbo Hengoku saw another piece of frightening motion picture, The Conjuring, and shares his experience with us.
The Conjuring Genre: Horror Age Certification: Rated R Director: James Wan Writers: Chad Hayes, Carey W. Hayes Notable Actors: Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor Release: 7/19/2013, English Plot Outline: Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren work to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse. Review Acting: 9/10 The acting was great and very believable. Even the children did well. When they were supposed to be frightened, you actually believe they were all frightened. When they were supposed to be all stoic, you could actually tell that they were scared but didn't wanna show people they were scared. Writing: 8/10 The Conjuring is interesting and the characters are introduced properly. There is also some good character development. But, like any good haunting story, the build up is pretty slow for the first half. There are no unneccessary scenes. Sound/Music: 8/10 I thought the soundtrack was good and it influenced the moments positively. Additionally, the sound effects were great. Visuals: 9/10 The visuals were really great and added to overall experience. The spirits looked real and there were some good shots of the characters and scenery. Visual effects were awesome, too. "Feels": 10/10 I did get emotionally invested because it was incredibly frightening. I was also rooting for the family to get through their troubles. The Conjuring will scare the life out of you and, believe me, you will not sleep for a few nights after seeing it. Personal Experiences: The Conjuring was scary. I liked the paranormal investigators, because they debunk things. They ultimately go into scenarios as skeptics. Another thing I liked was that it excels on the tension aspect. For instance, the camera will be panning into this really dark corner and someone's scared to death as if they're seeing something, causing me to get gooseumps all over and I'm just like "What's gonna happen?" The Conjuring is really effective, it's really creepy and has a lot of good tension. It's not gonna be original material but the execution of it is actually really good. After seeing it, I couldn't sleep well for about a week. Overall Rating: 8/10 Would I recommend it? If you like a good horror then you'll like The Conjuring. Really worth the watch! %Limbo Hengoku had a horrifying experience he wants to share with us: the movie Sinister
Sinister Genre: Horror, Mystery, Thriller Age Certification: Rated R Director: Scott Derrickson Writers: Scott Derrickson, C. Robert Cargill Notable Actors: Ethan Hawke, Juliet Rylance, Fred Thompson, James Ransone, Clare Foley, Michael Hall D'Addario Release: 10/5/2012, English Plot Outline: A true-crime writer finds a cache of 8mm home movies films that suggest the murder he is currently researching is the work of a serial killer whose career dates back to the 1960s. Review Acting: 7.5/10 I thought the acting was okay and believable most of the time. But at times, when they were supposed to be scared, they were not really believable. Writing: 8/10 The story is interesting and the characters are introduced properly. There is some character development as well. Characters are interesting and there are no unnecessary scenes. Though, at times, the story is very predictable. Sound/Music: 7/10 I thought the soundtrack was okay and it fit each scene well. Sound effects were good, too, but nothing was really outstanding. Visuals: 8/10 The visuals was good and the spirits looked very real, positively adding to the overall experience. Sinister had good shots of the characters. In addition, I thought the special effects looked pretty neat, but some scenes would've needed a little more work. "Feels": 8/10 I did get emotionally invested because Sinister is really terrifying, but I didn't really bond with any of the characters. I was, however, rooting for them to overcome their situation. Furthermore, the spirits themselves will make your hair stand up with fear. As a whole, Sinister is a horrifying experience. Personal Experiences: When I went to watch Sinister, I was like yeah, this is gonna be a just another scary movie, I've seen it all before. Boy was I wrong, it scared the living daylights out of me. I was surprised by the first shots. It just leaves me going "holy cow, so this is what I am in for". It's just disturbing imagery, It's not the last time you're gonna see it. There's not really much I didn't like about this movie but I got home not being able to sleep. Overall Rating: 7.5/10 Would I recommend it? If you're looking for movie that will scare you to death then Sinister is for you. Give it a shot. From a special survival trip returns our very own %Limbo Hengoku to tell us about the movie After Earth.
After Earth Genre: Action, Adventure, Sci-fi Age Certification: PG-13 Director: M. Night Shyamalan Writers: Will Smith Notable Actors: Will Smith, Jaden Smith Release: 5/31/2013, English Plot Outline: A crash landing leaves Kitai Raige and his father Cypher stranded on Earth, a millennium after events forced humanity's escape. With Cypher injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help. Review Acting: 5/10 The acting was was okay and fairly believable. Will Smith did fairly decent in this movie but he was boring to watch. Jaden Smith, in comparison, was les enjoyable. His acting was subpar and wasn't really believable to me, but he did have some good moments. Writing: 2.5/10 The story is interesting, but the execution of it was horrid. The characters are not introduced properly and there is no character development at all. The characters were just boring and the plot was really slow. Some things just didn't make sense. There are some conflicting messages and some unnecessary scenes. Sound/Music: 5/10 I didn't really like the soundtrack, but it did fit most scenes appropriately, yet failed to influence the moments positively. The sound effects were average. Visuals: 7/10 The visuals were okay but didn't really add to overall experience. However, it did have some good shots of the characters and scenery. The predators did look kind of cool, too. Additionally, the special effects were decent. "Feels": 3/10 I did not get emtionally invested at all. I didn't bond with any of the characters either. I was, however, rooting for the protagonists' father-son-bond, but that's about it. If you're looking for a movie with feels, then After Earth isn't for you. Personal Experiences: I honestly did not like After Earth at all. There's just something at the end of it I can't get over. The fact that Will Smith stands up and his first reaction is to salute his kid like a soldier shows me that their father-son-bond (the thing that you're supposed to be rooting for the entire time) hasn't been growing at all. Will Smith saluting his son just shows me that he respects him as a soldier and that's it. I thought I was supposed to root for their father-son-bond and I was supposed to watch that grow. I like a good survival movie as much as the next guy but in the end, the only survival scenario was sitting through the entire movie. Overall Rating: 4/10 Would I recommend it? No, I wouldn't recommend this movie. Do yourself a favor and skip After Earth, it's just boring. The serial reviewist %Limbo Hengoku is back, this time reviewing Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece Pulp Fiction.
Pulp Fiction Genre: Crime, Drama, Thriller Age Certification: Rated R Director: Quentin Tarantino Writers: Roger Avary, Quentin Tarantino Notable Actors: John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Amanda Plummer Release: 10/14/1994, English Plot Outline: The lives of two mob hit men, a boxer, a gangster's wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption. Review Acting: 10/10 The acting was excellent and very believable. Everyone in this movie did a great job and they were enjoyable to watch. Writing: 10/10 The story of Pulp Fiction is interesting and the characters are introduced. There was some good character development as well. The dialogue in Pulp Fiction is really well written and it's very quotable as well. There are no unnecessary scenes in this movie. Sound/Music: 10/10 I thought the soundtrack was really good and fit each scene perfectly. Visuals: 7/10 The visuals for Pulp Fiction are great. It had good shots of the characters and scenery, but it is mostly dialogue dependent, so the visuals weren't outstanding in any way. "Feels": 7/10 I didn't really get emotionally invested. However, I could relate to Bruce Willis's character because I would react the same way if I was in similar circumstances. Pulp Fiction as a whole was really engrossing and it had me happy the entire time. It was kind of funny, too. Personal Experiences: [PLOT SPOILERS] Pulp Fiction is amazing, from the get go, I knew what I was in for. Great dialogue, a lot of racial slurs and obscure originality. Whenever you see a movie that has a lot of racial slurs and nobody gets upset over it, that tells you that the writing is really good. One thing I liked about it was that it wasn't in chronological order. Instead, the chapters were all mixed up in a really stylistic kind of way. Half the fun after I was done watching it, was piecing everything together. Another thing I enjoyed were the characters, they were fantastic. My favorite is Jules. I honestly cannot think of any negatives for this movie. Overall Rating: 8/10 Would I recommend it? Yeah, I would recommend this movie because it's very entertaining. If you like great dialogue in movies you will love Pulp Fiction. |
