Snapshot
For this game, users PM the host (%, @, #) with links to screenshots from a TV show or movie. The screenshots must be appropriate to post on a Pokémon website with a young audience (i.e. no excessive gore or nudity). The screenshots must also not be vague for difficulty purposes. Preferably, images should be no wider than 600 pixels and a link shortener (like goo.my or http://Imgur.com) used to hide the origin name in the image URL. For example:
The Room Owner posts the screenshots, and users must try and guess what TV show or movie the shot is from.
Pirated Plots
Each round, the host (%, @, #) will post an unusual film synopsis that roughly explains the actual plot. Users must then guess the title of the film. First player to do so gains a point. The winner is the player with the most points at the end of the game. The host will prepare a number of rounds beforehand. It is up to 20 rounds, but it can be more if the host wants to. (e.g. "A father enlists someone with Alzheimer's to help him desperately searches for his kidnapped son" -> Finding Nemo.)

Media Mashups
The object of this game is to take two/three (at the host’s discretion unless Deus Ex Machina) tv shows, books, or movie and mash them up into something hilariously (or morbidly) new.
Modes of Play:
2. Free-for-alls - The players decide which media titles (from either tv, books, or films) they will mashup.
3. Scattergories - Host chooses two genres to be mashed up within a given media (ex: Romance x Sci-fi).
4. One and the same - Host picks an actor/actress.
Players must mashup media containing said actor/actress (could also be extended to directors for an interesting twist).
5. Deus Ex Machina - no limits (mixed media)! no restrictions (Care Bears and Terminator? SURE)!
LET THE MADNESS OVERTAKE YOU! Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!!!!
Rules:
1. The title of the mashup must contain words or phrases from applicable media components. The smoother and more creative the transition, the better! (e.g., Patch Adams + The Addams Family = Patch Addams Family)
2. A brief plot synopsis of the mashup must be included with the media title and must contain elements from both plots. The more clever or ironic the plot, the better! (e.g., Patch Addam's Family: "A middle-aged medical student must use the power of laughter to rehabilitate Wednesday Addams; a sociopathic girl from a disturbed family.")
3. Unless specified by the host, players are free to choose their respective mashup components from the specified media (unless Deus Ex Machina). If the prompt is to be randomized, http://www.randomlists.com/random-movies can be used, but the host should link to the IMDb synopses in good faith (the same applies to both tv and books). If the mode of play is FFA, it is up to the players to link to the synopses.
4. Combining media types (i.e., mashing up a book with a tv show) will be up to the discretion of the host.
Determining a Winner:
1. Polls. Let the users decide!
2. Panel. Staff/host determine the winner based on creativity, originality, effort, etc.
Modes of Play:
- Buzzwords - a word is chosen by the host (like red) and the mashup must either contain the word itself in the title or the title/synopsis must be related to the Buzzword (e.g., if the buzzword is ‘music,’ The Sound of Music + The Silence of the Lambs = The Sound of the Silence of the Lambs would be acceptable).

Guess Who?
Standard: The host of the game (Driver, Moderator or Room Owner) announces the game and keeps it orderly. The game starts when a selected user thinks of a character from a TV Show, book or film. The others must then ask yes or no questions in order to narrow down the options, and eventually guess the character.
Only yes or no questions may be asked and answered. Baton Pass option: This version of the game functions as above, but the user who guesses correctly gets to think of the character for the next round, or else may pass the turn to someone they choose. |
